The Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented by its Director General, Mr. Eyad Abu Taha, discussed prospects for joint cooperation with the Qatar Red Crescent’s Office in the Gaza Strip to support and empower business owners and economic establishments.
The meeting brought together Dr. Akram Nassar, Director of the Qatar Red Crescent Office in Gaza, and Eng. Abdullah Al-Madhoun, Programs Director, with the participation of Mr. Yassin Al-Astal, Director of the Khan Younis Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting addressed ways to strengthen cooperation in implementing programs and initiatives targeting owners of small, medium-sized, and large enterprises. These efforts aim to develop their capacities, support economic recovery, enable them to resume their activities, and facilitate their reintegration into the labor market.
The two sides also discussed the importance of designing training and development programs that respond to the needs of the private sector during the current phase. Such programs would contribute to building the capacities of business owners, strengthening the resilience of their enterprises, supporting their sustainability, and enhancing their role in driving the local economy.
Participants emphasized the importance of continued coordination between supporting institutions and chambers of commerce, as well as the need to unify efforts to launch impactful initiatives that serve the business community, support the economic recovery process, and strengthen the resilience of the private sector in the southern governorates of the Gaza Strip.
