Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Wefaq Association Implement a Workshop to Enhance Women Entrepreneurs’ Skills

As part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Wefaq Association for Women and Child Empowerment, a training workshop was conducted targeting 25 women entrepreneurs, as part of a program designed to train 150 women entrepreneurs. The program will be implemented in three phases with the aim of strengthening women’s entrepreneurial capacities, enabling them to identify business opportunities and select projects that align with local market needs, thereby contributing to the economic sustainability of women-led businesses in the Gaza Strip.
The workshop was delivered by Mr. Eyad Abu Taha, Director General of the Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Ahmad Muammar, Public Relations and Media Officer at the Khan Younis Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The workshop addressed a range of key topics aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs in developing successful and sustainable businesses.
The workshop covered identifying the skills and capabilities of women entrepreneurs and mechanisms for discovering and developing them, analyzing market needs in the Gaza Strip, identifying available opportunities amid ongoing economic changes, as well as the criteria for selecting viable business projects. It also focused on how to choose a suitable business idea that matches the entrepreneur’s capabilities and the needs of the market, thereby increasing the chances of success and sustainability.
The workshop facilitators emphasized the importance of providing women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and practical tools needed to make informed decisions when establishing their businesses. They stressed that the success of any business begins with understanding market needs and effectively utilizing personal skills and capabilities.
This workshop is part of a series of joint activities and programs implemented by the Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Wefaq Association as part of their efforts to promote women’s economic empowerment, strengthen entrepreneurship, and contribute to creating productive businesses capable of overcoming the economic challenges facing the Gaza Strip.
The training workshops will continue through the next two phases, with the program ultimately reaching the targeted total of 150 women entrepreneurs.
