Boards of Directors of Chambers of Commerce in the Gaza Strip Affirm Private Sector Unity and Continued Work of the Central Emergency Committee

The Boards of Directors of the Chambers of Commerce in the governorates of the Gaza Strip held a joint meeting at the temporary headquarters of the Khan Younis and Rafah Chambers of Commerce and Industry to discuss ways to strengthen the role of the private sector and unify efforts aimed at supporting economic recovery in the Gaza Strip.

The participants affirmed that the chambers of commerce constitute the primary institutional home and legitimate representative of the Palestinian private sector, serving as the umbrella that brings together all its components. They stressed the importance of unifying efforts and working in a spirit of partnership to address the current economic challenges facing the Gaza Strip.
The participants also reaffirmed the continuation of the work of the Central Emergency Committee of the Chambers of Commerce and the strengthening of its role in coordinating efforts among the chambers of commerce and private sector institutions. This aims to ensure an effective response to the needs of traders and business owners, contribute to accelerating the pace of economic recovery, and represent the private sector before various official, national, and international stakeholders.
The Boards of Directors of the Chambers of Commerce called on all private sector institutions, federations, unions, associations, and economic and professional bodies to join the Central Emergency Committee of the Chambers of Commerce in the Gaza Strip, as the national umbrella for coordinating private sector efforts, unifying visions and positions, and strengthening partnership and integration in addressing the challenges ahead. Such collective action will contribute to accelerating economic recovery, defending the interests of the private sector, and ensuring its effective participation in reconstruction and sustainable development efforts.
The meeting concluded with an affirmation that the doors of the Central Emergency Committee will remain open to all components of the private sector. This reflects the chambers of commerce’s conviction that they constitute the primary institutional home for the private sector, and that unity and joint action represent the best path toward building a stronger, more resilient Palestinian economy capable of recovery and growth, serving the people of the Gaza Strip and advancing the process of development and reconstruction.
